Project Forest Strathcona Forest is 9 hectares located in the greater Grande Prairie area in western Alberta. The site is part of the North Kamisak Lake Conservation Site, owned and maintained by the Alberta Conservation Association (ACA)

Project Forest Strathcona Forest represents our first exclusively funded rewilding project with Strathcona Resources as our exclusive funding partner. In partnership with ACA, Project Forest and Strathcona Resources planted over 18,000 seedlings on the 9 ha site of marginal agricultural land, contributing to the conservation effort and increased biodiversity goals of ACA. The North Kamisak Lake Conservation Site provides crucial habitat to the area’s wildlife species such as moose, elk, white-tailed and mule deer, black bear, and upland game birds. The site provides recreation opportunities like hunting, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Rewilding this land brings direct benefits to the air, water, soil, wildlife, and local community.
